Two Wheel Transit Fit Services

Why use Fit Services? Every rider is unique, (Different size and proportions, different abilities and different needs). While bike frames are made in standard sizes, components can be adjusted to provide an individual fit and thus a more enjoyable and efficient ride. Fit services examines anatomy, flexibility and riding style to adjust the bicycle to the optimal position for the rider’s needs. The overall goal is a comfortable and efficient position to improve the overall riding experience. Often discomfort while riding can be due to an improper fit.

Who does the fit? All our staff have years of experience with all aspects of bicycling. Bruce Abbotts, MD, our director of Fit Services, is a physician with 20+ years in practice and an experienced rider. His fit training includes Trek’s Fit seminars which are conducted by Michael Sylvester. Michael was involved in developing the Serrota fit training program and has an independent Bicycle Fitting Studio in Portland.

Fees:

Comprehensive Bike Fit: takes 60-90 minutes, cost $125

A comprehensive fit is a process to optimize your position on the bike. Taking into account the individual rider, adjustments are made for cleat, seat, handle bar position and rider position to achieve this goal. Recommendations to alleviate pain or other rider issues will also be made.

Cleat Fit: takes 40-60 minutes, cost $45

A cleat fit is directed at fitting the bicycle to you below the knee. We will assess and make recommendations with regard to shoe fit, cleat position and orientation, taking into account individual anatomy, discomfort and other rider issues.

Time trial, Tri Fit: take 90-120 minutes, cost $175

A tri fit is all of the above in a comprehensive bike fit and cleat fit, but also takes into account the demands of the time trial/triathalon position on aerobars.
